Beyond Art Colleges Lecture Series

Beyond Art Colleges Lecture Series

This subject is very close to my heart. It's a constant struggle for a fresh pass-out from an art college to decide his/her future course. This series of lecture was to help them understand the options better and align themselves based on their strengths and not by the market trends.

Nature Finds a Way

Nature Finds a Way

Innocence & nature either can’t be created or controlled. As a newborn we get innocence in abundance. Only later when we start learning the laws of demand & supply, or the idea of possession dawns upon us and most of us get obsessed with owning as much as we can. We pass on this contagious disease called ownership or possession to our next generation and them to their next. Did this for Pune Biennale, Public Display Medium: Scrap steel, public waste bin Size: H-12 feet, L-6 feet, W-5 feet

The Green Room

The Green Room

The significance of the Green Room in Theater is immense. Its here that actors spend those crucial hours before and after the act. We all have our Green Rooms, invisible though, hidden from the prying eyes of the world. It's here that we let go of our masks, be ourselves, laugh, cry and feel for the person that's 'Me', just 'Me'. Medium: Oil & Acrylic on Canvas, Size: 48 48 Inches. This one recieved an award at All India Lokmanya Tilak Exhibition-2014, Pune.

I Am Alive

I Am Alive

This one is one of the earlier ones when I started the series 'I Am Alive'. I sat with an open mind without any result in sight and almost an hour later I was amazed at this character staring at me. Why

Why

This was done around the same time when 26/11 in Mumbai happened. It was such a harrowing experience that this composition took place. Felt very helpless and powerless in the face of such brutality. It seemed pointless to paint also but I am an artist, thats what I do. Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Size: 48 X 48 Inches

I Am Alive

I Am Alive

Did this one in Pune. Someone from Pune bought it. Again a face with very prominent features, just landed on my canvas. I am just a medium it seems. Series: I Am Alive Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Size: 36 X 36 Inches

I Am Alive

I Am Alive

I am amazed by the Blue color and its shades. I have been using it in and around by central subjects all the time but some time back it took center stage. More I explored, got even more immersed in its psychological impacts and significance. Series: I Am Alive Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Size: 36 X 36

I Am Alive

I Am Alive

Wanted to have a wild go at the canvas. Took a bright palate also, still this face surfaced even out of the wild brush strokes. Can't explain, just enjoy the gift of life, I think. Series: I Am Alive Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Size: 36 X 36 Inches

A Dear Friend

A Dear Friend

One of my dear friends visited me in Pune. Spent a lot of time with him, knew him better with every day that we spent together and figured different shades in his Persona. Just felt like painting it, not a forced attemt.
